Calgary Zoo - Field Trip

We have a lot of exciting things happening in our building and the energy of Spring can be felt! Field trips, upcoming talent show, baby chicks, spring art… to name a few of the activities! I want to say thank you to the community members who are volunteering on our field trips and helping to ensure our students enjoy their excursions, have fun, and stay safe! Your time helps us to contribute to these co-curricular opportunities!

Recently, our staff came together to enjoy a full day of learning! These days are so valuable for our school! We looked at our numeracy and literacy data and the strategies that we have implemented this year. We looked at what has allowed students to be more successful at uploading reflections and documentation into myBlueprint. And we also used this time to prepare for our last PBIS campaign of the year focused on Respect. This reflection time is critical to our success as a team! Lastly, we ended our day by digging into what our Land Acknowledgement means, strategies for indigenizing our practice and our connection to the community of Airdrie and its history. This involved a trip to the Nose Creek Valley Museum! What a great resource we have in our city!

School Council and Friends of RMS meeting will be held on May 14th at 6:30pm. We welcome you to join us in the school’s learning commons or on zoom. During our School Council meetings, you will learn about what is happening at the school, hear from our Trustee, have opportunities to engage and ask questions. During the Friends of RMS meetings, the group works hard to plan fundraising opportunities and then decide on how to support the school and its student. It is the AGM for each group and there are vacant positions looking to be filled.
